Trapt, "Headstrong"

I grew up in a small town that was almost tribal in nature, the social demarcations were so intensely observed. I rebelled against this structure, choosing my friends for who they were, not for our assorted assigned positions, and while my parents were very proud of me for that, it got me a lot of backlash.


This song, for me, is about both my side of it, and that of the people who couldn’t stand that I wouldn’t abide by the status quo. You really could read it either way, I think.
